Highcliffe & Mudeford

The weather was sunny but cold, and in view of tomorrow’s forecast of gales & rain we decided to walk along the beach from Highcliffe Castle to Mudeford

The beach & sea were a picture, you could think it was June were it not so cold

Some kids were having a great time escaping from the waves

We had hoped to maybe have a snack & a pint in the pub at Mudeford Quay, but it was packed out, and too cold to sit outside, so we went back whence we came, but detoured via Steamer Point, where I spotted this small pond, with all the reflections

Back to Highcliffe to collect car. On way out we decided, in absence of proper lunch, to try a nearby Beefeater pub, the Somerford. It turned out to be a very good choice, nice coffee & lovely sandwiches

Then a nice easy journey home after a lovely day out
